To highlight the success of AT&T’s sponsor relationship with American Idol, New Dog produced this clay animation short that celebrates how fans can text to choose the next winner.
Taking this short from concept to Claymation to delivery, we illustrated the largely untold story of how fans vote for their next American Idol through the interplay of digital, television and communications technology.
In the absence of available footage, we used stop-frame animation and detailed visual effects to highlight the success of AT&T’s sponsor relationship with American Idol – producing and finishing a clay animation short that celebrates how fans can text to choose the next winner.
This step-by-step re-enactment immerses the audience in the fan experience as our main character casts a vote for her favorite Idol performer via text message through AT&T’s nationwide network. Over the course of the video, our main character is fully engaged in an interactive digital experience that puts the power to vote in her hands, from the comfort of her living room.
